Como viene siendo habitual desde hace tres años, un grupo de participantes en el curso sobre Mundo árabe-musulmán, organizado por Instituto de Estudios sobre Conflictos y Acción Humanitaria (IECAH) junto con La Casa Encendida, visitó la Biblioteca AECID, el martes 15 de octubre, de 16:30 a 19:00 horas.
En este curso, coordinado por la periodista Victoria Silva, participan entre otros profesores: Beatriz Mesa, profesora en Ciencias Políticas e investigadora en la Universidad Internacional de Rabat (UIR); Itxaso Domínguez de Olazábal, profesora en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y en Sciences Po en París; Bárbara Azaola, profesora del área de Estudios Árabes e Islámicos en la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha e investigadora del Grupo de Estudios sobre las Sociedades Árabes y Musulmanas (GRESAM).
Según el programa del curso, el día 15 de octubre se dedicaba a "El conocimiento y comprensión del mundo árabe musulmán a través de los recursos documentales de la Biblioteca Islámica de la AECID", a cargo de Luisa Mora, responsable de la Biblioteca Islámica “Félix Mª Pareja” de la AECID, con visita guiada a dicha Biblioteca incluida.
En primer lugar, se contó la historia y evolución de la Biblioteca Islámica de la AECID y se mostró el uso tanto del catálogo web de la Biblioteca AECID como de la base de datos Al Manhal.
A continuación, los asistentes a la visita examinaron la selección de documentos, preparada con antelación, relativa a los contenidos del curso.
Finalmente, se realizó una visita al depósito de documentos de la Biblioteca Islámica de la AECID.
Varios de los asistentes obtuvieron el carné de la Biblioteca AECID y algunos de ellos también se llevaron préstamos a domicilio.
